Our People
The main efforts of the Trust are carried out by our innovative team of Trustees, employees and volunteers who seek to positively represent our values and deliver services which achieve our mission and vision as a charity.

Maj. Gen the Hon Seymour Monro CBE LVO. Lord Lieutenant of Moray and Leanchoil Trust president. Career army officer now retired. Involved with numerous third sector activities, many military-related but also local wellbeing organisations.

Prof Marianne Nicolson. Chair of the Leanchoil Trust (LT) board. Consultant medical oncologist with 35 years’ experience of working in the NHS, 24 years as consultant in NHS Grampian and now part time with NHS Highland. A former trustee of CLAN and research adviser to several cancer charities. Lead for Health and Wellbeing.

Dr Jana Hutt MBE. Vice-chair of the board. Retired Highlands & Islands officer (skills and business development). 20 years’ experience overseeing the restoration of Knockando Woolmill and 12 years as chair of Moray College UHI. Experienced in overview and management of complex development projects in old buildings, including funding.

Graham Murdoch. Owner of long-standing family firm of butchers in Forres. Member of Forres Community Council and of numerous third sector organisations and trusts. Leads the relationship with Health & Social Care and mental health of young people.

Andrew Anderson. Retired Highlands & Islands Enterprise Head of Partnerships at HIE Moray and Head of Community Land Unit for HIE, with experience of multi-partner projects involving the public/private and third sectors, community ownership and economic development. Leads on community land matters.

Michael Barron. Retired solicitor with over 30 years’ experience in corporate law. Board member of several other charities. Leads for the LT in legal matters, especially in relation to the community asset transfer

James Campbell. Chartered Accountant. Former chairman and long-term partner of Johnston Carmichael Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors. Chair and/or Director of large organisations in Moray and Speyside. Advisor on matters relating to finance.

Ralph Luck OBE. Former director of international property consultants Avison Young from 2018 to 2023, having previously been director of estates at King’s College London between 2013 and 2018. Prior to this he held the position of property director at the UK’s Olympic Delivery Authority and development director for the 300-acre Greenwich Peninsula, which included the Millennium Dome.

Alan James DL. Director and owner of A J Engineering & Construction Services Ltd. Deputy Lieutenant for Moray. Involved in local third sector organisations and duties related to Lieutenancy. Advisor on matters relating to construction.

Consultant Sarah Kettles is an experienced built-heritage professional working in Scotland. She is highly skilled in developing and managing grant-funded heritage projects, fundraising, capacity building and community engagement. Sarah has first-hand experience of working for a range of organisations including local government, charitable trusts, grant funders and the private sector.
