With the support of the people of the Forres area and our funders, the Leanchoil Trust is working to bring this amazing property back into service for the community.
Community Asset Transfer
The Community Asset Transfer has now been completed, and the property has been formally acquired by the Leanchoil Trust from NHS Grampian for a fee of £340,000. The purchase was funded by the Scottish Land Fund.
Now the Trust owns the premises it is responsible for on-site security, maintenance and safety. The Trust has employed a security firm to install CCTV and motion detectors, which are monitored 24/7.
Our next steps include securing a Building Warrant from Moray Council, and planning works on site.

Here are indicative plans for the Leanchoil site which will be worked up and fully developed for the planning application. You will see the maternity unit has a dotted red line superimposed; this is the existing building, which will be demolished to make way for a 38-unit supported accommodation block.
