Community Asset Transfer

Before the Trust can take possession of the premises and grounds, planning consent for the conversion and building of supported housing on the site must be obtained from Moray Council. We also need to raise the majority of the capital needed for the refurbishment. These are conditions of the asset transfer request (ATR). We are hopeful this will be secured by the autumn of 2025. At this point the agreed fee for Leanchoil can be transferred to NHS Grampian and work can start.

Here are indicative plans for the Leanchoil site which will be worked up and fully developed for the planning application. You will see the maternity unit has a dotted red line superimposed; this is the existing building, which will be demolished to make way for a 38-unit supported accommodation block.
